Creating roles for children to take further active leadership in the school is a commitment that stems from our values of empathy, agility and hard work.
We want children to understand and enact roles that mean they are “giving back” to the school in some way –showing gratitude and modelling hard work to others. In this way children learn to be citizens and collaborating to take care of our school.
Roles can change on a yearly or termly basis though the following are the foundation roles in place currently.
- School Councillor
- Helping hands
- Reading mentors
- Library monitors
- Buddies (peer mentors)
The vast majority of roles are advertised and recruited through an application and selection process/ interview.
