Curriculum Overview

At Kingsbury Green Primary School we are committed to providing a holistic education that fosters the development of well-rounded individuals who embody our school values of Ambition, Character, and Empathy. Our curriculum is designed with a clear intent, executed through effective implementation, and assessed for its real-world impact.

Ambition: We aim to inspire ambition in our pupils. Our curriculum is designed to challenge and stimulate their intellectual curiosity, helping them reach for new heights. We encourage pupils to set high aspirations, develop a growth mindset, and strive for excellence in all they do. Our intent is to equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to pursue their dreams and make a meaningful impact on the world.

Character: We place great importance on nurturing strong character. Our curriculum emphasises moral and ethical values, encouraging honesty, integrity, and a sense of responsibility. We believe that a strong character is the foundation for success and meaningful relationships. Our intent is to help pupils develop into compassionate, resilient, and principled individuals who make positive contributions to their communities.

Empathy: Empathy is at the core of our educational philosophy. We teach our pupils to understand and appreciate the perspectives and feelings of others. Through a curriculum that incorporates diverse perspectives and promotes inclusivity, we aim to cultivate empathy in our students. Our intent is for them to become empathetic, compassionate citizens who can make a difference in a diverse and interconnected world.

Our dedicated staff team design lessons and learning opportunities that offer a rigorous academic program with a focus on developing deep knowledge to problem-solve and think creatively. Reading and Writing is at the centre because we believe that high quality literacy is the key to unlocking success. We model and teach character through daily interactions, pupil leadership opportunities, and extracurricular activities. We foster an inclusive environment where pupils learn to appreciate differences and show kindness to one another. The teaching of modern British Values are fundamental to our curriculum.
